The Adobe Photoshop 7.0.1 update contains a series of fixes for the Photoshop 7.0 graphics program.

This update contains numerous fixes. Scaling issues are addressed, the opening of Windows is sped up, and the program is made more compatible with QuarkXPress. Below, a list of all of the major changes:

• Windows XP thumbnails now cooperate with files made in Photoshop.
• Compatibility with Intel Premium III hardware has been improved.
• JPEG Metadata has been more efficiently preserved.
• Alpha transparency is now correctly saved in Targa files as in previous versions of Photoshop.
• Photoshop will not ask to save changes if the color management policy is set to "Off".
• Total ink defaults to 300% like it did in previous versions of Photoshop.
• The white color in CMYK no longer shifts when saved as a JPEG file.
• TIFF files have been corrected with LZW compression.
• The functionality of Favorites works correctly in the Open dialog box.
• The lock-up that occurred when Picture Package dealt with incorrect file types has been fixed.
• KPT3 filters no longer cause Photoshop to freeze.
• Re-sampling 16-bit documents no longer creates a program error.
• Backwards compatibility with Photoshop 6.0 has been improved.

This update is for the English language version only. Please remember when installing this update that you'll need to shut off your virus protection programs. Once that is done, double-click the Setup.exe file and follow the instructions. You may have to uninstall and reinstall 7.0 if the update can't find it.
